The Science

Cryolipolysis is best for targeting stubborn pockets of fat. It can be used on many areas of the body including the abdomen, love handles, chin, upper arms and inner thighs.

Human fat freezes from -1°C while the Cryolipolysis handpiece reaches from 0°C to -10°C.
The vacuum in the handpiece pulls the pocket of fat into the head and the plates inside the head freeze the area down to the selected temperature.
Subcutaneous fat cells are more vulnerable to the effects of the cold than other surrounding tissue.
When fat cells are exposed to a precise cooling below body temperature, they undergo crystallisation and localised cell death.
Using the unique combination of electro and cryotherapy, 20-40% of the fat cells treated in the area die naturally and dissolve over several months. These damaged fat cells in the treated area are gently eliminated through the body’s normal metabolic process.

FAQs
Am I suitable?
The treatment is suitable for anyone with stubborn pockets of fat that will not budge with diet or exercise. Whilst most people are treatable, Cryoliplysis Fat Freezing is not meant as a substitute for weight loss. If you have 4 stone or less to lose then this is a suitable option for you. If you have more than 4 stone of weight to lose then we recommend you speak with our nurse practioner about weight loss options and return to us when you are at your desired weight.
There are some contraindications that mean you may not be suitable and these will be explained to you on consultation.

Once you have finished your treatment you can carry on your day as normal. You may have some slight redness and numbness but this will subside within a day. In some cases and depending on the area treated, there may be something similar to a love bite or bruising but this will subside within 5 days.
